How can I tell if we would be a good fit?
Finding a therapist can definitely take some time and effort. It can be helpful to gain clarity on what you’re seeking from therapy and what you’re looking to focus on. If you’re not totally sure but can sense something in your life has gotta change or you can sense you need some support, that’s okay. These questions can also be explored in the beginning of therapy. If you are able to clarify what you’re looking for, it can be helpful to seek out a therapist who works with the focus areas you’re seeking support with. I’d try to tune into your instincts throughout your search and the consultation process. If you’re into what you’re reading and seeing from my website, that’s a good cue that it might be worth reaching out for a consultation. From there, I’d encourage you to see how you’re feeling on our consultation call and first few appointments. Above all else, it’s important that you feel listened to in our interactions and that you feel comfortable talking with me. Therapy often involves sharing and working through thoughts, feelings, and experiences you might not have talked about with many (if any) other people. So, if you sense I’m someone you could see yourself feeling comfortable with, that is a strong cue that we might be a good fit!
Where will appointments take place?
I provide therapy virtually through a HIPAA-compliant video platform, so appointments take place online.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of service is $165 per therapy session. I have a number of sliding scale spots built into my practice. If this session fee is inaccessible for you, please feel free to reach out to me about sliding scale spots. I cannot guarantee that I will have sliding scale spots available, but I am more than happy to talk through what session fee is sustainable for you and if I am able to provide that at this time. If I am unable to provide a sliding scale fee that works for you, I would love to help you get connected with resources/therapists that might be a good fit!
Can I use my insurance to pay for therapy?
For residents of Texas, I do not accept insurance at this time. However, your insurance may still reimbursement you for a portion of our sessions. If you’d like to seek reimbursement for out-of-network services through your insurance company, I’m happy to provide you with superbills that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
For residents of North Carolina, I am in-network with most Aetna plans through Alma. If you live in North Carolina and are interested in using your Aetna plan, you can reach me here to see if I am in-network with your plan:

For residents of North Carolina seeking to use other insurance, I am an out-of-network provider. However, your insurance may still reimbursement you for a portion of our sessions. If you’d like to seek reimbursement for out-of-network services through your insurance company, I’m happy to provide you with superbills that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this, I’m happy to talk through this with you!
How long does a therapy session last?
Typically, therapy sessions last 50 minutes.
How often will we meet for therapy?
How often someone comes to therapy depends on a variety of factors, including their current circumstances and what they are experiencing. Sometimes people come to therapy twice a week. After working together for a while, sometimes people transition to coming once a month. Most often, people come to therapy once a week or once every other week. I would recommend starting out meeting at least weekly so we can build a relationship and settle into our work together. However, sometimes meeting every week isn’t possible due to finances, schedules, etc. and that’s totally understandable. We can chat about how often we might meet and how that aligns with what you’re looking for from therapy.
Do you work with kids and teens? How about relationship and family therapy?
I only work with individual adults, 18 years and older, at this time.
I see that you work with grief & loss, anxiety, and self-criticism. Can we work together if I’m looking for support with something else?
Yes! Some additional areas I have experience working with are depression, trauma, relationships, disordered eating, body shame, and exploration of gender and sexuality. I love working with the LGBTQIA+ community and have supported many clients in exploring aspects of their sexuality and gender, including navigating aspects of medical and/or social transition. If you’re interested in working together, a good first step is for us to connect about what you’re looking to focus on in therapy. From there, I can determine if I think I may be able to meet your needs and you can feel out if I seem like a good fit for what you’re seeking.
I’m interested in getting started - What are my next steps?
If you have questions or are interested in starting therapy, the next step would be to send me a message. You can submit the form under the “Contact” tab on this website, email me, or leave me a voicemail at the contact information below. After that, I will reach out to reply to your inquiry and see if you’d like to schedule a free 20 minute initial consultation call. On this call, I’m happy to answer any questions you have, we’ll talk through logistics to confirm details about payment and scheduling, and we’ll talk briefly about what you’re coming to therapy for. If it seems like we might be a good fit, we can schedule a first therapy session and go from there. If during the consultation call or first few sessions we find that I’m not a good fit for you, I would be more than happy to share ideas for therapists and/or resources that might be a better match.
